The Avengers star Jeremy Renner, 44, may be enjoying taking part in the massive success of the superhero franchise as Hawkeye, but it seems his personal life is even more dramatic than the movies he stars in.
After only 10 months of marriage, Renner’s wife, Canadian model Sonni Pacheco, 26, filed for divorce citing irreconcible differences and it was clear this was not an amicable split. In her divorce papers Pacheco attacks Renner as an unfit parent claiming he only spends time with their 22-month old daughter Ava Berlin at Pacheco’s insistence and also says his house is not safe for a child.
On the other side of the battle, Renner’s longtime friend and roommate Kristoffer Winters, 41, is rushing to his famous friend’s defense with shocking claims about Pacheco of his own.
In court documents obtained by People magazine, Winters describes multiple examples of Pacheco being a negligent parent, during and after her pregnancy claiming she was smoking and drinking quite a bit throughout her pregnancy with Ava.
He then states after Ava was born, Pacheco drank “about a bottle of wine per day,” while breastfeeding but stopped after six weeks because she felt “guilty.”
He also said in the documents that he believes she only married Renner to gain her U.S. citizenship and he says she often threatened the actor with releasing embarassing videos of him. “I heard Sonni say at least five or six times….that Jeremy should be nice to her and not fight her on green card or money issues or else she would release intimate videos of him to TMZ.”
TMZ states they were never offered any video and say Pacheco has adamantly denied all of Winters claims, except for the ones about extortion.
