Months after a wave of scandals hit the Duggar family, made famous by their TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting, the network released a sneak peek of a special featuring two of the daughters Jill and Jessa Duggar.
Around the time the original show was cancelled because of scandals involving the oldest son, Josh Duggar, TLC announced that Jill and Jessa would be participating in their own special and the preview is quick to show that they will discuss what happened with their brother.
“Here I am, most joyful time in my life, newlywed, baby on the way, and then…We were devastated. We couldn’t believe it. You have to wonder, how did this happen?” 22-year-old Jessa states in the clip. Meanwhile Jill adds, “The whole world was shocked. You’re angry and hurt and all of those emotions mixed together. I cried a lot of tears. I still do.”
Although the controversies and scandals will be discussed, the special called Jill & Jessa: Counting On will also focus on their “exciting milestones” as Jessa and her husband Ben Seewald await their first baby due November 1, and Jill and her husband Derick Dillard detail their mission work in Central America with their young baby.
“Even with all the difficulties that my family has been through, there’s still a lot of exciting milestones ahead. Ben and I are really excited to welcome our first little on into the world very soon,” and Hill added, “We do feel like we are stepping on. We’re excited about what the future holds. We will come out of this fire stronger as a family unit.”
