Jim Carrey Releases Statement After Girlfriend’s Suicide

Hours after it was reported that Cathriona White, the on-again, off-again girlfriend of Jim Carrey had committed suicide, the actor has released a statement responding to the tragedy.
“I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona. She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt,” Carrey said.
As previously reported, White was found dead in her L.A. home on Monday, Sept. 28 from what appears to be a drug overdose and also left a note addressed to Carrey. For right now however, the coroner is not confirming the cause of death until an autopsy is conducted and full toxicology and tests are back.
