The will of the late Joan Rivers has been revealed.
The comedienne and TV host leaves behind a $150 million fortune, some of which she’s given to charities such as Guide Dogs for the Blind, Jewish Guild Healthcare, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the Jewish Home and Hospital Foundation and God’s Love We Deliver, a New York food pantry that delivers meals to people who are unable to leave their homes.
Back in 2009, Joan gave an additional $250,000 to God’s Love We Deliver when she won the title of “Celebrity Apprentice.”
Joan’s daughter, Melissa, has been named the executor of the will, and has been given “the broadest and most absolute permissible direction” over the money.
As part of her inheritance, Melissa has been bequeathed Joan’s $35 million New York apartment.
Joan’s business manager Michael D. Karlin and interior designer Robert Higdon have also been named co-executors of the living trust.
Other people singled out in the will include Joan’s niece, nephew, grandson, publicist Scott Currie and assistants Sabrina Lott and Jocelyn Pickett. The assistants are also now the proud owners of Joan’s four rescue dogs.
“We didn’t know,” her nephew’s shocked wife said of the inheritance. “She was an incredibly generous woman.”
