Full House star John Stamos is repurposing an iconic set-piece as a baby gate! The 56-year-old actor shared a picture on Tuesday, March 31, of how he’s decided to use the blue plaid couch, which was the centerpiece of the living room in the Tanner home on both the popular ‘80s sitcom and its 2016 reboot Fuller House.

In the snap, the couch is placed in front of a staircase as Stamos’ 1-year-old son, Billy, who he shares with his wife, Caitlin McHugh, stands by its arm.
“Baby safety gate or one of the most iconic couches in pop TV history? You make the call,” he jokingly captioned the picture.
The photo seemed to shock his fellow castmates, with Jodie Sweetin writing, “WHAAAAATTTT?!” and Andrea Barber jokingly calling Stamos a “thief.”
At the same time, Candace Cameron Bure asked “You got it?! Not Bob?” referencing Bob Saget, the show’s patriarch.
However, Saget seemed to support Stamos’ ownership of the iconic couch, commenting, “I don’t know what it is John, but it comforts me.”
In another comment, Saget joked, “Did you take the alcove too?” referencing another iconic part of the Full House‘s set.
Dave Coulier jokingly warned Stamos in the comments, writing, “A lot of my farts are still in that couch.”
The cast wrapped up filming of Fuller House in November, and the final season is set to air on Netflix later this year.
