Julia Roberts On Plastic Surgery: “I’ve Taken A Big Risk”

In wake of the “new” Renee Zellweger controversy, her changes have initiated reactions from not only fans but other celebrities as well.

After stepping out at ELLE’s 21st Annual Women in Hollywood Awards on October 20, Renee was basically unrecongizable, a headline that has dominated entertainment news.

In response Renee herself has not admitted to plastic surgery only stating that “she is happy people think she looks different,” and attributes changes to getting older as well as being happier and healthier.

While she sticks by that, many believe the change is too drastic to not have involved surgery, garnering empathy from stars like Heidi Montag, who underwent her fair share of plastic surgery because of pressure from the entertainment industry. As well as surprising support from the likes of Russell Brand.

Now, actress Julia Roberts is speaking out in the wake of the plastic surgery controversy by commenting that she essentially jeopardized her career but not going under the knife to make improvements.

In an interview with You magazine the 46-year old actress stated, “By Hollywood standards, I guess I’ve already taken a big risk in not having had a facelift.”

Roberts believes that maintaining a healthy, young look without putting yourself through surgery includes, “letting go of the things that weigh you down mentally and emotionally.”

She also spoke about her role as a beauty ambassador for the skincare line Lancome stating, “I want to be an ageing model- so they have to keep me for at least five more years until I’m over 50.”
