Justin Bieber had a rough landing when he returned to Los Angeles after his trip to Asia: he was detained and questioned for hours at Los Angeles International Airport.
The 20-year-old Canadian singer was questioned by the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officials when he touched down at LAX around 1 p.m. Thursday. It’s a bit less dramatic than it sounds: The grilling was part of a routine procedure for people who have open criminal cases.
Justin was arrested in Miami in January for DUI and resisting arrest. He also turned himself into authorities in Toronto for assault charges and is currently under investigation for allegedly throwing eggs at his neighbor’s house in Calabasas, California.
After almost four hours of questioning, Justin was released without any additional arrests being made. Following the experience, he stayed positive in the following message he posted to his followers on Twitter: “Life is good. Keep it positive always. Everybody spread the love and positivity.”
In another post, the young star tweeted a photo of himself leaving LAX, along with the caption, “All smiles.”
Fans were likely worried because an online petition to deport Justin back to Canada received over 100,000 signatures back in January — but it looks like Justin will be staying in the U.S.
