Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry has revealed that she doesn’t want her ex-husband Javi Marroquin to have a relationship with her newborn son.
The MTV personality gave birth to her yet-to-be named son on August 5 whose father is Lowry’s friend Chris Lopez. Lowry has two sons, Isaac with her ex Jo Rivera, and Lincoln with her ex-husband, Javi. Although she has acknowledged that Marroquin has been a positive father figure in both of the boy’s lives, she doesn’t feel it would be necessary for him to do the same for the newborn. “I don’t see a reason for him to be involved other than knowing and acknowledging that this is Lincoln’s half sibling. That being said, on my end, there is no bad blood. But I don’t think there is any reason for him to necessarily be involved,” the mom shared in an interview with Radar Online.
Marroquin has also voiced his opinion that he most likely won’t have a relationship with the newborn, but to add the the confusion he might have a legal responsibility to the child. Attorney Brooke A. Camhi revealed, “Delaware law states that the ex-husband is presumed the father of a child if the child is born less than 300 days after the divorce.” If Marroquin wishes to avoid this responsibility he would have to file a valid denial of paternity.
Despite the legal complications of the paternity situation, Lowry doesn’t seem to concerned and simply stated, “Javi is not the father. Chris is the father so I think we’re all going to work together to make sure everything is taken care of and that that’s established.”
