Kate Middleton Just Wore A Glittery Red Dress To Host A Buckingham Palace Reception

Kate Middleton and Prince William hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace on Monday, January 21st.

The royal duo hosted the event on behalf of the Queen to mark the U.K.-Africa Investment Summit which is taking place in London. While Meghan and Harry were noticeably not in attendance, Kate and William did have other royal members join them for the evening including Prince Edward and Countess of Wessex Sophie as well as the Queen’s daughter Princess Anne.

For the occasion, Kate wore a stunning red dress by Needle & Thread. The dress fit her at an elegant midi-length and featured sheer sleeves and a glittering texture. The Duchess accessorized with classic red pumps and a red structured clutch. She wore her hair in her signature bouncy blowout and her makeup natural and glowy.

William made a speech at the event where he referenced his personal connection to Africa. “The African continent holds a very special place in my heart,” the royal dad shared. “It is the place my father took my brother and me shortly after our mother died. And when deciding where best to propose to Catherine, I could think of no more fitting place than Kenya to get down on one knee.”
