Katharine McPhee Is Expecting 1st Child With Husband David Foster

Congratulations to Katharine McPhee and David Foster! The couple is expecting their first child.

On October 9, the couple was spotted shopping for baby clothes in Montecito, Calif. A source close to the couple shared that Katharine “has always wanted to be a mom and to have a baby with David. They weren’t necessarily trying for a baby but were open to it happening this year. Since work has slowed down for both of them, they knew this year would be a great time for it to happen.”

“They told their immediate family members about a month ago and everyone was very shocked and excited,” the insider continues. “Erin Foster joked that their kids will be the same age.”

McPhee, 36, and Foster, 70, first sparked rumors of a potential romance back in May 2017 but officially went public with their relationship one year later at the 2018 Met Gala. The pair got engaged in July 2018 and wed just a year later in 2019.

Ahead of the ceremony, McPhee took to her Instagram to express her love for Foster. “Exactly 13 years ago today my very first single, ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow,’ was released right after Idol. Today… I’m marrying the man who produced it,” she wrote. “Life is full of beautiful coincidences, isn’t it? Thank you for taking me over the rainbow, David.”
