Kelly Clarkson Comments That Her Life Has Been “A Bit Of A Dumpster” Since Divorce Filing

Kelly Clarkson has always been a very open and honest celebrity and while she has said she will not be talking publicly about her divorce, she is sharing some very candid comments.

In a new interview on Sunday Today With Willie Geist the singer and TV personality shared a sad comment about her life since her divorce filing from husband Brandon Blackstock earlier this year. “I mean, it’s no secret. My life has been a little bit of a dumpster,” she said.  “Personally, it’s been a little hard the last couple months.”

Clarkson and Blackstock were married for nearly seven years when she filed for divorce in early June. The pair share two children together and Clarkson had become the stepmom to Blackstock’s two children from a previous marriage.

“I’ve been talking to friends that have been through divorce. I don’t know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved,” Clarkson added.

Shortly after her divorce filing, Clarkson won her very first Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for her daytime talk show, but her personal life had her a little distracted.

“I’m sitting there playing with Legos with my kid. My executive producer Alex calls me and is like, ‘You are the best host.’ And I was, like, ‘Thank you,’” she said. “I was having kind of a hard week, and I literally almost started crying, because I was like, ‘This is just the nicest thing to call someone out of nowhere and just be kind.’ And she was, like, ‘No, no, no, no. You won the Emmy for outstanding…’ and I was, like, ‘What?!'”

Despite the split she thanked Blackstock for “believing in me and convincing me” to do the show.

Now, she is focused on her role as a coach on The Voice, her talk show and has even teased new music!
