Kelly Clarkson is stepping in for Simon Cowell on Tuesday and Wednesday’s live shows for America’s Got Talent following his bike accident.

On Saturday, Cowell had to undergo a six-hour overnight surgery after breaking his back in multiple places as a result of a bike accident. He tweeted at the time, “Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time,” the America’s Got Talent judge tweeted. “I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages.

Clarkson took to Instagram on Tuesday to share that she would be stepping in for Cowell as he recovers. She joked that she was “wiser, cooler, and hotter” than Cowell in the post. Clarkson is the original American Idol champ from when Cowell was one of the judges.

“My friend, Simon Cowell, is doing better now but was in an accident and won’t be able to make Tuesday and Wednesday’s live shows for AGT,” Clarkson shared as a photo on her Instagram. “But no worries America, someone far wiser, cooler, and hotter is taking his seat! The unbelievably amazing Kelly Clarkson! You’re welcome in advance!”

Simon’s rep recently shared a statement about Simon’s current condition. “Simon had a fall from his bike testing his new electric bike in the courtyard at his house in Malibu with his family. He hurt his back and was taken to hospital. He’s doing fine, he’s under observation and is in the best possible hands.”
