Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie recently made headlines when she revealed that she made the decision to have her ovaries removed after a cancer scare.

As the news broke many people and fellow celebrities spoke out in support of Jolie’s brave decision and on Tuesday March 24, Kelly Osbourne, 30, revealed that she is also facing the same decisions as Jolie.

“I actually do have the cancer gene,” Osbourne said on The Talk. “My mom made us get tested after she found out that she had it and got her double mastectomy,” she said referring to her mother, Sharon Osbourne’s battle with cancer in 2002 and surgery in 2012 after she found out she had the gene that increases the risk of developing breast cancer.

Kelly then admitted that would eventually also undergo the peventive surgery that that Jolie underwent. “I agree with this 100 percent. I know one day I will eventually have to do it too because if I have children, I want to be there to bring them up. I want to be there to support them in every way I can.”

She also discussed the importance of people like Jolie being open and bringing the issue to the attention of others. “I have been the child of a cancer survivor, so being on that end as well is really, really hard to deal with, so I’m lucky to have the brave mother I have that has taught me so much. It’s something I applaud Angelina for because she’s bringing attention to this, and people are now going to go out and get tested for it.”
