For many special events, holidays and occasions, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have made a habit of sharing personal photos, and the tradition has continued in celebration of Prince Louis’ 1st birthday.

On Monday, April 22, Kate Middleton and Prince William released three new photos of their youngest child in preparation for his first birthday on April 23. The images were shared across the royals’ various social media challenge and were taken by Kate Middleton herself.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share these new photographs of Prince Louis ahead of his first birthday tomorrow,” the Kensington Palace Instagram page wrote alongside the first two photos. The photos were taken at Kate and William’s home in Norfolk and feature the young royal smiling and showing off his first two teeth!

Two snaps show him in a red sweater with buttons on the shoulders over a white collared onesie and paried with dark pants. A third shows the adorable child with a royal blue sweater featuring a puppy on it with a white collared shirt underneath.

In the year since his birth, Prince Louis has been kept mostly out of the spotlight, but his royal parents did share official portraits two weeks after his birth. Kate was also behind those pictures and is known as an avid photographer after she studied art history at the University of St. Andrews.

Fans last saw Prince Louis in the family’s Christmas Card which featured the Duke and Duchess in casual wear including jeans surrounded by their adorable three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
