As Lamar Odom makes a slow but promising recovery from his near fatal drug overdose early last week, it has been abundantly clear that his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, still really cares for him.
As news of his condition broke, it was also revealed that the pair were still legally married because their divorce documents had not been filed yet, and now it seems they won’t be.
As reported by TMZ, Khloe and Lamar have jointly decided to dismiss their divorce case and Khloe’s lawyer Laura Wasser went before a judge on Wednesday, Oct. 21 requesting that the papers filed to end their marriage be withdrawn. The judge immediately granted the request, and the divorce is no longer being processed.
Although Odom is improving significantly, he is still battling back, so it is unclear how he agreed to this or signed the paper to withdraw the divorce given the fact reports indicate he can barely speak and his movements are limited.
Regardless, the news isn’t that surprising as the most recent season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians showed that Khloe and Lamar were still very close, and she rushed to his side as soon as she heard he was hospitalized and hasn’t left since, vowing to see him through everything.
Khloe filed divorce papers in December 2013 after four years of marriage. Odom had seemingly spiraled out of control with multiple run-ins with the law; however, she sat on the papers for quite awhile before finally filing them with a judge this summer.
Only time will tell how dedicated these two are to giving their relationship and marriage a second chance.
