A source revealed to E! News that their sudden split was partially due to Cavallari feeling that her now-estranged husband “wasn’t as supportive of her career as she would have liked.”

The source told the outlet they sought marriage “counseling” to work through their problems. “The issues were ongoing for a long time,” the source shared. “Things weren’t improving. They both wanted the marriage to work.”

Another insider added, “This was a buildup and a long time coming. It wasn’t a sudden decision and they have known for a while that things were headed in this direction.”

As for their three children Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor, the first source shared their “kids will come first,” which is why the pair are “still living under one roof” and why they decided not to cancel their vacation to the Bahamas in March, despite facing bumps in their marriage. “They didn’t cancel the trip to the Bahamas because of the children. It was a pre-planned vacation and they didn’t want to spoil it for them,” the source said.

According to both insiders, Cavallari and Cutler are living in their Nashville home together for the foreseeable future, where they intend to co-parent their children. The first source revealed, “The hope, of course, is to remain friends but time will tell.”

While the other source told the outlet The Hills alum wishes to “co-parent” with Culter, but it’s noted that Cavallari requested “primary custody” of their children, according to court documents. The reality star also cited cited “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct” as grounds for the separation.

Although their estranged couple is in the early days of their split, the second insider noted, “They hope to be cordial and civil to one another and will make every attempt at that.”
