Lil’ Kim’s star has definitely fizzled since her high celebrity status in the early 200o’s. She was one of the most well-known female rappers and was making big money until she served a prison sentence in 2005 for lying to a jury about her friends’ involvement in a shooting.
After the incident she never reached the same level of success and has tried numerous comebacks and even took part in the 2009 season of Dancing With the Stars.
In order to preserve fame and money, in recent years Lil’ Kim has been known to almost only perform at gay clubs, earning her a big and loyal fanbase, until now.
The Manor nightclub offered an exclusive event for their 5th anniversary which included a meet and greet, autograph and photo with the star, all for a good chunk of money from fans. While they paid up, she didn’t show up, at least not on time.
Lil’ Kim was scheduled to make $23,000 just from this one event but she showed up very late and did not even participate in the meet and greet portion, leaving the club to pay out the refunds to hundreds of fans.
It seems narrowing her fan base so exclusively has hindered her now, because even they don’t want her, as reports indicate she was booed when she left the club.
Lil’ Kim accepts no blame for bailing on her devoted fans and says that the promoter never told her about the meet and greet part and that’s why she showed up only for the short performance.
