Lucy Hale has broken her silence…about her most awkward audition ever!
The 25 year-old Pretty Little Liars star spoke with MTV news about trying out for Fifty Shades of Grey, the upcoming movie based on E.L. James’ erotic novel.
“It actually was just me [in the audition],” she explained. “It was a two-page monologue of exactly what you would think it would be.”
She added that the audition was “very uncomfortable” and “unlike any audition I’ve ever done before in my life” – but she said that “it was sort of one of those things where you just had to go for it or you’re just gonna look lame—hopefully, I didn’t look lame.”
Lucy said she was looking for “something a little different” when she tried out for the role of Anastasia Steele, which ultimately went to Dakota Johnson. Lucy wanted to get out of her comfort zone and do something “a little risky” — and she definitely found it! Luckily, Lucy has found another outlet that shows fans a new side of her: her musical talents. She released a country album, Road Between, last month.
