At 56 years old, Madonna is still performing and making music like it’s still the ’80s but she did experience a minor setback on Wednesday February 25 at the Brit Awards when she took what looked to be a pretty massive fall.
Madonna was belting out her latest single “Living For Love” when she was yanked violently to the ground from behind while walking the steps up to a raised platform after a costume reveal went awry.
Donning a large cape, the plan was for one of her backup dancers to pull off the cape and reveal the singer’s gorgeous glittering outfit underneath however a wardrobe malfunction turned into an injury after the strings around her neck were tied too tight and did not come undone. When her backup dancer pulled the cape, the pop queen went with it.
While she was without a doubt shaken up, Madonna is always the professional and got up and continued performing. Afterwards, she took to her Instagram to assure everyone she was indeed okay.
“Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I’m fine! #livingforlove.”
Although it is most important that she is uninjured, that is probably most definitely not how Madge imagined not only the finale act of the night going but also her first performance at the Brit Awards in 20 years.
