Madonna Thinks She And Kanye Are Alike; “Kanye Is The Black Madonna”

When it comes to compliments within the music industry, receiving one from the ‘Material Girl’ herself is a huge honor -even for the world’s biggest stars.

A little while ago Madonna, 56, complimented Taylor Swift by saying she enjoys her music and her “catchy” lyrics, a comment to which Taylor responded with a simple, “Thanks now I’m dead.”

Although not many people run around complimenting Kanye West anymore, it seems he does have a fan in Madonna who worked with the controversial rapper on three songs for her new album Rebel Heart. “Kanye is the new Madonna. Kanye is the black Madonna,” she stated while talking to the New York Daily News.

She went on to explain that she sees a lot of similarities between herself and West, especially when it comes to taking risks and pushing boundaries; “We know, and recognize, that we have that in common. We’re comrades in the envelope-pushing genre.”

Much like West throughout his career, Madonna has had to take on many critics and now the issue that most seem to be taking up with the pop star is her age, as at 56 she is still dressing and making music the same as early on in her career.

“People have always judged me, and given me s–t about one thing or another. Now they’re giving me s–t about my age. It’s bulls–t. And mostly I hear it from women. I feel I should be hearing support – like, ‘Good for you.'”

If you think it fazes the superstar though, you would be quite mistaken; “I earned my stripes. Bitch, I’m Madonna. And that’s it.”
