Mama June Sparks Controversy With Sketchy New Boyfriend

TLC TV show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, has encountered some issues that may cause the network to stop running the show.

The show follows the exploits of Honey Boo Boo, also known as Alana Shannon, who is a 9-year old beauty pageant contestant, as well as her family.

The show, which is a spin off of the hit, Toddlers and Tiaras, has been well-received just as much as it has been criticized for showcasing the activities of the Shannon family.

After recent disturbing reports however, the show’s future is looking bleak.

Apparently, “Mama June” Shannon has a new boyfriend and he has a disturbing criminal record that is causing TLC to rethink the future of the show.

It seems that after splitting with Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, June, 35, is dating a man who was previously convicted of child molestation in an incident involving one of her own relatives who was eight years old at the time.

The man served ten years in jail and is now a registered sex offender in the state of Georgia, home to the Shannon family and where the show is filmed.

After news of this information surfaced, TLC released a statement saying “TLC is not currently in production on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series.”

While the show is not currently in production, it had been scheduled for a fifth season, something that has apparently been suspended in the wake of this news.
