Mariah Carey Slams ‘American Idol’ As The ‘Worst Experience’ Of Her Life

Millions of people love American Idol — but Mariah Carey isn’t one of them!

In an interview with the Kyle and Jackie O radio show in Australia, the 45 year-old singer, who served as an American Idol judge in 2013 alongside Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban, says she is definitely NOT coming back for the show’s final season.

“Hell no! Absolutely not! That was the worst experience of my life,” Mariah revealed.

She also referred to the much-publicized “feud” that was manufactured between herself and Nicki Minaj.

“I’m not going to get into what it was. Let’s just say, I don’t think they had any interest in us having a good experience through that show. Pitting two females against each other wasn’t cool,” she said.

“It should have been about the contestants instead of about some non-existent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness.”

Mariah also didn’t like having to come up with detailed reactions to the contestants’ performances, calling the show “so boring and so fake.”

“You have to make up things to say about people,” she said. “Half the time the performances are good. You’d just be like, ‘It was good!'”

While we’re not entirely surprised that the show is “fake,” kudos to Mariah for being honest about her experience and not giving us some prepared statement by a publicist!
