The Wanted is taking a long-term break — and lead singer Max George has dished on the details.
In a new interview with The Sun, the 25 year-old pop star said that tensions in the group are at an all-time high because of girlfriends, business deals and members hoping to launch solo careers.
“Over the past year there has been a lot of tension,” he dished. Check out the video to see more of what Max said.
Of course, it doesn’t help that the Wanted’s music hasn’t been doing very well. They’re managed by Justin Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, but their most recent album didn’t sell many copies, and they’ve been dropped by their record label.
The Wanted is continuing with their upcoming Word of Mouth tour, where they will perform their new single “Glow in the Dark,” among others — but in a statement on their web site, the band says the tour will be the “last for a while.”
“The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future,” the statement continues. “They thank their fans for their continued love and support and look forward to seeing them on tour.”
