The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have returned to the U.K. to attend a charity event.
The event marked their first return to the U.K. in three months following their visit for Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee. The event was the One Young World Summit in Manchester, which took place on Monday, September 5, as part of a mini royal tour. The couple will also visit Germany.
During the event, Meghan gave her first speech in the U.K. since she and her husband made their final royal appearance in March 2020. “It is very nice to be back in the U.K.,” Meghan began.
“You are the future. But I would like to add to that that you are also the present. You are the ones driving the positive and necessary change needed across the globe now in this very moment. And for that, I’m so grateful to be in your company today.”
For the occasion, Meghan wore red suit pants with a matching chiffon red top. She wore her hair in a sleek bun and opted for gold hoop earrings. Prince Harry looked dapper in a navy suit.
Meghan has worked as a counselor for One Young World Charity since 2014. The charity organization aims to develop “young leaders to build a fair, sustainable future for all.
