While Prince Harry ventured solo on his tour in Angola, the Duchess of Sussex remained hard at work in South Africa!
The royal mom recently made a private visit to the Cape Town memorial of Uyinene Mrwetyana, a 19-year-old University of Cape Town student who had been missing in late August and her death was confirmed in September.
“Having closely followed the tragic story, it was a personal gesture [Meghan] wanted to make,” Meghan’s royal spokesperson confirmed with PEOPLE of her attendance. The Duchess honored Uyinene by leaving a handwritten message which read: “Harry & Meghan 26th September 2019.” She also wrote, “We stand together in this situation,” in the native language of Xhosa.
For the occasion, Meghan dressed casually in a frilly white tank top and dark wash jeans.
