Meghan Markle No Longer Listed As “HRH” Or “Royal” On Charity Patronages

Meghan Markle is no longer listed as Her Royal Highness for multiple charities she is a patron of!

Meghan and Harry will be officially stepping down from their royal roles on March 31st. This change in royal role also means a change in what title the public uses to address them.

Some of Meghan’s patronages are already beginning to change her information on their website and social media accounts. The Smart Works charity is no longer calling Meghan “Our Royal Patron HRH The Duchess of Sussex” on the Who We Are section of its website, instead simply referring to her as “The Duchess of Sussex.”

Meghan is also a patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). She was initially referred to as HRH The Duchess of Sussex on their accounts, but in two recent photos on the association’s Instagram page, she is referred to as “our Patron, The Duchess of Sussex.”

Another charity Meghan is the patron of is the animal welfare charity Mayhew. They too have dropped the HRH title for Meghan on both their social media accounts and website.

For the time being, Meghan remains the patron of these charities but the change in her designation will come as she and husband Prince Harry officially step back on April 1.
