The Duchess of Sussex has stepped out for a solo visit in Johannesburg during the royal Africa tour!

She paid an unplanned visit to the University of Johannesburg where she met with academics and students to discuss the challenges they face in accessing higher education. The Duchess is a royal patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and is committed to promoting better access to education worldwide.

During the roundtable discussion, she talked about her personal experience in accessing education. “So much is about having the support and scholarships and funding for students… That was the reason I was able to attend university,” she explained. “At the same level, you need to have that support on the inside to be able to give as much back to those in the education system.”

For the occasion, the Duchess stepped out wearing a chic and affordable trench dress by Banana Republic. While this dress is currently sold out in the khaki shade Meghan is wearing, it can still be shopped in a warm white shade for less than $150. She paired the look with a pair of nude Stuart Weitzman pumps and a bracelet by Alemdara.
