Melissa Rivers, the daughter of famed comedienne Joan Rivers, is in the process of securing lawyers in order to file a multi-million dollar wrongful death lawsuit in the case of her mother’s death.
Melissa has been seeking answers for her mother’s sudden death after complications arose during a routine procedure, and now she is going after the New York endoscopy clinic where Joan Rivers suffered cardiac arrest which led to her coma and eventual death.
As well as the clinic she is also targeting the doctors who were involved believing the surgery should not have ended in death. A partner from a top New York law firm stated, “In order to fully determine all of the facts and circumstances surrounding the death of Joan Rivers, we confirm that our firm has been engaged by Melissa Rivers and her family.”
Rivers’ cause of death was ruled as being a “predictable complication of medical therapy”, however Melissa is trying to understand how a minor, routine operation could have caused a lack of oxygen, brain damage and cardiac arrest and eventual death.
As well as answers she is also seeking financial settlement from the clinic even as the executive of her mother’s will and coming into a rather large inheritance including Joan’s estate.
