Mexican Telenova Star Lorena Rojas Dies At 44

Mexican soap opera and telenova star Lorena Rojas was a shining star in her field before tragically passing away at only 44 years old on Monday February 16.

Her talent agency Latin WE released a statement confirming her death writing, “With great sadness we inform fans, colleagues and press members that Mexican actress and singer, Lorena Rojas, passed away today in Miami at 44 years of age, after facing a courageous battle against cancer. Lorena who bravely defeated the disease at different stages since being diagnosed in 2008, took her last breath peacefully in her home, surrounded by the love of her family, her boyfriend and her closest friends.”

Rojas was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 which she bravely fought but as of last year was told that the cancer had spread to her liver. She had just recently celebrated her 44th birthday on February 10 with friends and family writing on her twitter, “Thank you all for celebrating my birthday with me. Beautiful day.”

Her agency concluded their statement with a tribute to her life, “Lorena takes a step into eternal life leaving as her greatest legacy the love for animals and for art in all its forms, her tender devotion to her daughter, her passion for life, the appreciation of all her Lobitas and fans who loved her until the end and her rejoice towards the most anticipated time of her day: a good, fun dinner with  her family and friends who will love her forever.”

“Rest in peace Lorena Rojas, our courageous fighter. We will always remember you, just like you wanted, enjoying life, with your extraordinary adventurous smile.”
