Miranda Lambert is feeling grateful for the role that music plays in her life.
Earlier this week, the country singer released her first single since her public divorce from Blake Shelton. Titled “Vice,” the down-tempo song is about the struggles of dealing with loneliness and heartbreak. The single has already reached No. 1 on iTunes.
Yesterday, Lambert shared a screen capture of the song’s rank on the music store’s chart, and wrote an emotional note about the challenges she’s experienced in the past year. It has been a difficult time for Lambert, especially since her ex Blake Shelton’s high-profile relationship with Gwen Stefani is continually in the news.
“The last year of my life has been one of heartache and healing, … Of learning to be honest …. Accepting the flaws and celebrating the smiles. Finding peace in dark places … having some moments alone with me. Facing fears and feelings… All of them,” she wrote. “I got to know my guitars…became friends with a pencil and paper … Used melodies to lead me places I had never been…. Made music with my friends. Because music is medicine,” she added. “This means the world to me. Thank you for joining me on this journey. #vice.”
Lambert is keeping busy with her Keeper of the Flame summer tour. She’s also enjoying her new relationship with fellow singer Anderson East. A source in E! News said Lambert’s relationship is a welcome addition to her life. “Anderson has given Miranda this confidence she hasn’t felt in some time. They are very supportive with each other and their careers,” the source said.
