Neil Patrick Harris Gets His Own Variety Show

At 41 years old, it seems life just keeps getting better and better for actor, Neil Patrick Harris.

His role as Barney Stinson in the hit show, How I Met Your Mother has now become infamous and is the source of many pop culture references.

His personal life is going great as he and partner David Burtka welcomed twins in 2010 and the pair were married just last month in Italy.

Now, shortly after announcing he will be the host of the 87th Academy Awards in 2015, NBC has confirmed that Harris will always be getting his own variety show to host.

Harris has wanted to expand his talents to a variety show for awhile, and he will now get the chance as NBC has ordered ten episodes of the show which will be a U.S. version of of the British variety show, Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Audiences can expect a lot of entertainment with Harris’ new gig including, “comedy sketches, musical numbers, mini game shows, hidden camera pranks on celebrities and appearances by A-list stars.”

As for Harris, he is extremely excited to embark on yet another challenge in his multi-dimensional career, “Nothing like this has been done before, and its unique structure fits right into my random skill set. I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and have some fun!”

There are no reports as to when we can expect the new show to air on NBC.
