Since the passing of MTV reality star and TV personality Diem Brown on November 14, 2014, fans, family and friends have all come together to honor her life and support the fight against cancer.
Diem passed away at the age of 34 after battling cancer on and off for years from the age of 23 when she was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Regardless of the struggle, Diem was tough, not only by battling cancer with unwavering strength and optimism every time but she was also a tough and fierce competitor when it came to her time on MTV’s The Challenge, which she competed in over the course of eight years since first appearing on Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat in 2006.
MTV will be airing a special tribute tonight (Tuesday December 9, 2014) called We <3 Diem, highlighting her life and time on the show with words and memories from several of her castmates.
One of those castmates, Davis Mallory, met Diem through a mutual friend after he completed his season on The Real World: Denver in 2006.
Diem then took the time to coach Davis as he competed on his first Challenge, The Inferno 3.
His friendship with Diem had a profound effect on his life and after her passing he wrote a special tribute song, “Beautiful Girls (Diem’s Song)”, in honor of her saying he “would love to share this with as many people as possible who also loved Diem.”
Along with the support of Diem’s sisters and brother, Mallory put together a music video for the song highlighting Brown’s life and is dedicating the tribute to her charity, MedGift which she started to support anyone going through a health hardship.
Check out Mallory’s touching song and video below as well as MTV’s We <3 Diem special which airs at 9pm tonight.
