Nick Lachey Is Glad He Didn’t Have Kids With Jessica Simpson

While Nick Lachey, 41, may be excited to become a father for the second time, he is just happy it isn’t happening with now ex-wife Jessica Simpson.
In a recent interview with Jenny McCarthy on her SiriusXM show Dirty, Sexy, Funny, McCarthy held nothing back, grilling Lachey on everything from ex Jessica to sex with current and very pregnant wife Vanessa Lachey.
One of the first nothing off limits question was very direct, “How happy are you that you didn’t have a baby with Jessica?”
Nick didn’t back down from the question, stating, “In our situation, that was probably the best thing that could have ever have happened that we didn’t have kids […] All things being equal. it was the best thing probably for the both of us that we went on with our lives.”
He also discussed their relationship or lack of one, now that they have both moved on with their lives. “I wouldn’t say it’s friends and I wouldn’t say it’s enemies, there is just no contact. We both moved on with our lives…it’s not animosity, it’s not friendship, it’s just kind of nothing,” although he did assure McCarthy that he does not “hiss” or anything at the TV when Jessica’s commercials come on.
With his past relationship questions out of the way, Nick was then asked very boldly if he and Vanessa were currently having sex at this point in her pregnancy.
“I’m not sure she’s that comfortable right now with much of anything, including sex, its been an uncomfortable time when you get into the last month and a half,” he explained.
After Nick and Jessica split in 2006 after four years of marriage, shortly after Nick began dating Vanessa after she appeared in one his music videos.
They were married in the summer of 2011 and welcomed their first son, Camden in 2012, and are currently awaiting the arrival of their first daughter.
As for Jessica Simpson, she also has two children, Maxwell 2, and Ace, 16 months with husband Eric Johnson who she met in 2010 and married in 2014.
