Olivia Culpo Thought Nick Jonas Was Proposing At Miss Universe Pageant

On Sunday January 25, 2015 actor and singer Nick Jonas, 22, and his girlfriend 2012 Miss Universe winner Olivia Culpo, 22, were on hand for the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant and even though she wasn’t competing, Culpo thought she was about to experience one of the biggest moments of her life.

Jonas performed on stage while the top ten women were announced and took the stage around him as the singer went through his tracks “Chains” and “Teachers” before launching into “Jealous.”

Partway through the tune Jonas left the stage to serenade Culpo who was in her front row seat and instead of just singing in front of her he got down on one knee and grabbed her hand.

“I went down and sang to her, and I [got] on a knee and approached her. Her face was in full panic, she thought I was going to propose on national TV in front of one billion people,” Jonas told U.K. newspaper The Sun afterwards.

It certainly seemed at the time that she was panicked as she gasped in surprise and put her other hand to her neck but she hasn’t commented on the “almost proposal” although she posted on her Instagram afterwards, “Best part of tonight. Being serenaded by this stud.”

Sure, she can try to play it off cool but we all know Culpo thought a whole lot more was going on there than just a serenade.
