One Direction Ordered To Pay Weed Bond Before Philippines Show

Squeaky clean boy-band?

Definitely not when it comes to the once young and innocent members of One Direction as it has been reported that some locations are taking certain precautions when dealing with the group of pop stars.

According to Billboard, the Philippine Bureau of Immigration has asked two specific members to be pay bonds of around $5000 each before playing in Manila this weekend. Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson are required to post the bonds, which will be given up if they are caught using or even promoting illegal drugs while they are there for performances on March 21 and 22 at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.

The conditions to receiving their special work permits comes from a call by the Anti-Drugs Advocate group who advised the bureau of a video that went around the internet that seemingly showed Malik and Tomlinson smoking marijuana.

A spokeswoman for the Advocate group said that they are worried about the band’s “influence on Filipino youth.” “We want to see their pure, raw, untainted talent without the need for them to take drugs,” she added.

After the video made its rounds, Payne apologized on behalf of the group via Twitter, writing, “I love my boys and maybe things have gone a little sideways. I apologize for that. We are only in our 20’s and we all do stupid things at this age.”
