Paula Patton officially filed for divorce from estranged husband, Robin Thicke, on October 3, 2014.
The two have had some troubling times recently and have been separated since February of this year.
In the filings Patton cites the usual, “irreconcilable differences” as the reasons behind the divorce and is also asking for joint custody of their son, Julian, who is now 4 years old.
The couple, who have known each other since they were teenagers and have been married since 2005, hit a rough patch most notably after the huge success of Thicke’s song, “Blurred Lines”.
There have been numerous rumors of infidelity surrounding Thicke and he also admitted to continued drug and alcohol abuse which he believes is the reason behind the split, “I told my wife the truth. That’s why she left me,” the singer said in a statement in April.
Although Thicke has tried to keep his marriage from ending in divorce even by naming his most recent love songs album “Paula”, it seems reconciliation is not on the table.
However, reports say everything is peaceful between the two, “we will always love each and be best friends,” the couple stated after their initial separation in February.
As early as July, the couple had put their Los Angeles mansion on the market.
