Pregnant Zooey Deschanel Is Now Engaged

Although we aren’t even one full month into 2015 yet, actress Zooey Deschanel is having a landmark year already, well in her personal life anyway.

Reports are confirming that Deschanel, 35, is now engaged to her producer boyfriend Jacob Pechenik, 42, not long after the couple announced they are expecting their first child together.

On Saturday January 17, the expectant couple spent the day on Catalina Island celebrating Deschanel’s birthday and that is when Pechenik took the opportunity to pop the question to his love.

“Jacob and I are over the moon,” the actress told People magazine after confirming her pregnancy. “We are so excited to meet our little one.”

While it is not clear when the two began dating, they first stepped out together publicly in August 2014 for the Emmy Awards and it seems they met while on the set of Deschanel’s upcoming comedy Rock the Kasbah which also stars Bill Murray, Danny McBride, Bruce Willis and Scott Caan.

This will be the first child for the New Girl star, but the second marriage as she was previously married to Death Cab for Cutie rocker Ben Gibbard from 2009-2011.

Deschanel’s exciting engagement and pregnancy news also coincides with her actress sister, Emily Deschanel’s pregnancy. She announced she was expecting her second child with husband David Hornsby back in December.
