Queen Letizia of Spain is definitely one of the most underrated Royal women, especially when it comes to fashion! She’s sophisticated and modest with her dressing, but also highly fashion-forward, which is why we admire her style so much.
Recently, she stepped out for one of her final public engagements of the year before Christmas to attend the National Fashion Awards at the Museo del Traje in Madrid, Spain. For the fashion affair, rather than opting for one of her go-to designer labels like Hugo Boss or Carolina Herrera, the Spanish Royal opted for something completely different. She made a sentimental statement with her fashion by opting for a red dress that was passed down to her from her mother-in-law, Queen Sofia, from the 1980s.
The fluttery red skirt and blouse combo was a lovely gesture of family and how trends always circle back in style. Queen Letizia put her expert styling to work with this look and added a modern twist on the ’80s garment by accessorizing with bright red heels and a subtle snakeskin clutch. When Queen Sofia wore it, she styled the look quite differently with layered pearls, a classic Royal fascinator and gold bangles.
The British Royal women, namely Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, love to wear some of Princess Diana’s most beloved jewelry pieces and tiaras, but Queen Letizia took this to the next level when she stepped out in one of her mother-in-law’s most memorable outfits.
