Razzie Nominations 2015: Cameron Diaz, Transformers Top List
Published on January 14, 2015.While every person in the entertainment industry works incredibly hard to hopefully be honored for their effort come awards season, there is at least one list not a single celebrity wants to see themselves on.
The nominations for the 35th Annual Golden Raspberry awards (more commonly known as the Razzies) have been announced, picking out the worst of the worst of this year’s actors, actresses and films and unfortunately for those involved in Transformers: Age of Extinction, the film leads the way with an incredible 7 nominations across all categories.
The film is nominated for Worst Picture, Kelsey Grammer for Worst Supporting Actor, Nicola Peltz for Worst Supporting Actress, Michael Bay for Worst Director, Worst Remake, Rip-off or Sequel, Worst Screen Combo and Worst Screenplay.
Although things are not looking good for the film according to that list, lead actor Mark Wahlberg did manage to avoid a nomination for Worst Actor and the film was still the highest-grossing movie of 2014.
Meanwhile, even though things are going great in the personal life of the newly married Cameron Diaz, the actress’s name appears quite a few times as well.
Diaz is up for Worst Actress in The Other Woman and Sex Tape, in contention with the likes of Charlize Theron and Melissa McCarthy as well as Worst Supporting Actress for Annie in a list that also includes Megan Fox and Susan Sarandon.
Diaz and Jason Segel are also up for Worst Screen combo for Sex Tape and the film is also nominated for Worst Screenplay.
While it is unfortunate to see some Hollywood favorites on the list, there is a silver lining that the always egotistical and annoying Kirk Cameron may take home a razzie for each of his 4 nominations for Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas which was officially listed as the worst movie ever on IMDB at the end of 2014.
