Rihanna has paved a lot of paths when it comes to women in the music industry and at 27 years old she isn’t stopping there, as the “FourFiveSeconds” singer was recently named the newest face of top beauty brand, Dior.

The Barbadian beauty will be appearing in the brand’s fourth episode of the “Secret Garden” which was shot this week by iconic fashion photographer Steven Klein in Versailles.

It is not only a big role for Rihanna professionally, but on a much bigger level as well as she is the first woman of color to represent the brand in it’s entire 69-year existence, even as it has climbed to the top of luxury brand status.

On Monday March 16 Rihanna reflected on the gig and its significance: “It feels fantastic. It is such a big deal for, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any color,” she told MTV News. “I think to be acknowledged by Dior means a lot, as a woman, to feel beautiful — to feel elegant and timeless.”

Aside from singing Rihanna is heavily involved in fashion and also pulled off her first ever Diamond Ball charity event just last year, but she views this role with Dior as particularly special: “it’s fantastic and meaningful,” she stated.
