Captain America must really be rubbing off on Iron Man as actor Robert Downey Jr. showed his heart of gold when he presented a 7-year-old boy -Alex Pring, who has a partial limb, with an amazing bionic arm on Thursday March 12.

The Avengers star did everything he could to make the moment special, even by appearing in full character as Iron Man’s alter-ego Tony Stark. Downey, 49, partnered up with Limitless Solutions to create the bionic, prosthetic arm at no cost to Pring’s family -and even worked with Marvel to create the design for the superhero-loving little boy.

“Marvel actually approved of what we were doing. We sent our design to them. [It is] Tony Stark approved,” Limitless Solutions founder Albert Manero stated.

Downey took to his Facebook account to share the special moment with fans posting the video and writing: “Had the absolute privilege of presenting a brand spanking new 3D-printed bionic Iron Man arm to Alex, the most dapper 7-year-old I’ve ever met. Special thanks to Albert Manero, OneNotem and #CollectiveProject for their work making artificial limbs like this more affordable for families with kids who want to show the playground had bad-ass they are. In the adorable video, Alex couldn’t be any more nonchalant about meeting his favorite superhero and even calls him “Robert” as if they are old friends.
