Sandra Bullock Tears Up Saying Goodbye to Jay Leno!
Published on February 7, 2014. Updated October 15, 2014Sandra Bullock’s gonna miss Jay Leno.
The Oscar-winning actress appeared on the second last episode of Leno’s The Tonight Show this week to say goodbye to the late night talk show host, who is finally heading for retirement and passing the torch off to Jimmy Fallon. She got a little teary eyed as she thanked Leno for his support over the years.
“You’ve always been so kind,” she said, getting a little emotional. “You were always so welcoming and every single person on your crew was that way consistently, and I just felt special even when I felt very insecure.” Check out the video to see the rest of Bullock’s heartfelt words.
Jay is bringing back a lot of big stars for his farewell, including Mickey Rooney, Kevin Smith, Arsenio Hall and Carrot Top. His final episode features Billy Crystal, Garth Brooks and some more surprise guests.
There’s a bit of awkwarness surrounding Leno’s exit, given that NBC tried to replace Leno with Conan O’Brien back in 2009, resulting in plunging ratings, a failed plan to put Leno back on the air before Conan, and then Leno’s return to The Tonight Show, while Conan fled NBC for TBS. But this is Leno’s real departure now, and even if he seems a bit melancholy about it, he admits that Jimmy Fallon makes sense for a younger audience, since he can do dance numbers with Justin Timberlake and read Miley Cyrus’ tweets without sounding creepy.
