Ever since her exit from Grey’s Anatomy as Cristina Yang, TV audiences have been waiting for Sandra Oh’s next big role, and it is finally on its way!
The beloved and talented actress is giving up her scrubs, for a much more dangerous job in the new spy-thriller series, Killing Eve.
According to reports from Deadline, the new series follows Eve, played by Sandra Oh, who is a MI5 security officer who finds a renewed passion for her life and job after she is assigned to take down a very intelligent and merciless kiler, Villanelle played by Jodie Comer. Unfortunately for Eve, tracking an assassin isn’t as easy as movies make it look, and puts her in way more danger than she ever anticipated.
On Thursday, February 22, BBC America finally released its first trailer for Killing Eve and now the anticipation for Oh’s new show is higher than ever! The minute long trailer does not disappoint as Eve tells Villanelle that she is a psychopath and Villanelle responds, “You should never tell a psychopath they are a psychopath, it upsets them.”
Oh first teased her new project back in the summer, when she took to social media to share a story from The Hollywood Reporter with the caption, “Working again!” and continued to share photos through her months of filming in France.
Series creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge also couldn’t contain her excitement about the series, or working with Sandra Oh, saying, “I have been a huge fan of hers forever and am pinching myself that she is playing our Eve. She is going to be so badass in this role.”
Killing Eve is set to premiere on BBC America on April 8.
