Sean Penn Is Adopting Charlize Theron’s Son

Although many still view Charlize Theron’s relationship with Sean Penn as a little odd given their age gap, he’s 54 and she’s 39, the two don’t care what others think and continue to make advancements in their relationship.

After getting engaged in November while on a trip to Paris, reports indicate that Penn has now filed to adopt Theron’s 3-year old son Jackson, whom she adopted in March 2012.

“Sean always knew that to truly earn a place in Charlize’s heart, connecting with Jackson was one of the most important parts,” a source close to Penn told Us Weekly.

Not only are the two preparing to legally join their families, the source also revealed that they want to continue to expand their family, “There is still talk of adopting again and giving Jackson a brother or a sister.”

Theron and Penn have kept their wedding details under wraps but it will be the third marriage for Penn who was previously married to Madonna from 1985-1989. He was then married to actress Robin Wright whom he has two children with, Dylan Frances, 23, and Jack Hopper, 21.

While Theron has never been married, she was in a longterm relationship with actor Stuart Townsend for almost nine years before splitting in 2010.
