British actor/comedian Stephen Fry is getting married! Fry, 57, will tie the knot with his 27-year-old boyfriend, Elliot Spencer, as confirmed by the star himself.
The news first broke after Fry gave formal notice to wed Mr. Spencer at a register office in Dereham, Norfolk. After the reports made their way online, Stephen confirmed the news tweeting “Oh. It looks as though a certain cat is out of a certain bag. I’m very very happy of course but had hoped for a private wedding. Fat chance!”
The announcement of Fry’s wedding comes just months after the nuptials of several other gay celebrity couples, including Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka and Elton John and David Furnish.
As for wedding details, none are available yet. Fry’s personal assistant told the media “Stephen Fry is very happy and proud to say that he has set the wheels in motion for a wedding sometime in the future but no date has been set due to a busy work schedule.”
