Former General Hospital (GH) star Steve Burton has reportedly just inked a deal to join the cast of Days Of Our Lives (DOOL)!
The actor is set to reprise the character of Harris Michaels, according to Soap Opera Network. The role, which was Burton’s first daytime gig back in 1988, was revisited this past summer on Days Of Our Lives: Beyond Salem Chapter 2.
The actor enjoyed portraying the character again, hinting that Michaels could see “some redemption”.

“He’s not operating on a code of ethics that is great,” Burton revealed at the time. “I don’t know how much I can say but he does some not nice things in this chapter.”
Clearly, that redemption arc will be further explored now that Michaels is joining DOOL. According to People, Burton will be involved in “a thrilling new storyline” which includes Drake Hogestyn (John), Deidre Hall (Marlena), Stephen Nichols (Steve) and Mary Beth Evans (Kayla).
Burton had hinted back in July that he would be open to continuing with the Peacock soap.
“From what I gather, Peacock’s happy with this, NBC’s happy with this,” Burton explained. “If the opportunity’s there, sure. I never say never.”
This news comes hot on the heels of fresh speculation that Burton might return to GH, now that ABC’s health mandate has just been dropped.
Burton’s first airdate will occur early in 2023.
