If you’re looking to actor Henry Cavill to sugar coat the benefits of acting and talking about “making art” and “making difference,” that’s not exactly what you’re going to get. While those things are very important to the 32-year-old actor as well, he isn’t pulling any punches that the money isn’t a huge factor.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight the 32-year-old talked about all the real perks of being a major movie star. “I’m slightly wary of saying this, because it can be frowned upon, certainly by members of my community and people outside my community…but I’m not just doing this for the art. The money’s fantastic and that’s something which I deem, and again, it is frowned upon, very important.”

Of course, Cavill can say that after landing the colossal role of the world’s most iconic superhero, Superman, for 2013’s Man of Steel which he is now reprising in several DC films including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which is the beginning for The Justice League film franchise. Although he admits not everyone will like his comments, it is refreshing to have an actor tell it like it is when it comes to their lifestyle and he says “You’ve got to enjoy life!” but also loves to spend his money on family and friends. “When I’m making money I’m spending it on nice stuff, whether that be lavish holidays for me and my friends or just seeing something and going in a shop and saying, ‘Yeah I want that for the house,’ and buying it. Spending money on my friends, buying dinner for everyone, drinks for everyone, it’s a nice place to be, and I like people to feel cared for.”
