“We’re working on it right now with Warner Brothers,” he said in a video he shared to Instagram over the weekend. “It’s looking fantastic. So, that should come out, that’s going to happen.”
Demolition Man 2 may come as a surprise to many people, as the original flick received lukewarm reviews from critics, and hasn’t aged too well cinematic wise, although it is hitting close to home in some aspects with the current ongoing health and safety situation.
The 73-year-old actor starred in Deomolition Man as an LAPD cop who is cryogenically frozen in the ’90s but then awakens in the year 2032 to take on a 20th-century criminal, Simon Phoenix, portrayed by Wesley Snipes. Demolition Man also starred Sandra Bullock and Nigel Hawthrone.
The 1993 action flick recently surfaced when there were concerns about a toilet paper shortage following the start of the public health situation. In the movie, people in the future in some way use three seashells rather than toilet paper. In the year 2032, touching (including handshakes) has long been outlawed as well as not to transfer germs.
Stallone wasn’t the first choice for the role of John Spartan either. Apparently, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Segal both passed on it when approached for the role.
