Sylvester Stallone’s wife Jennifer Flavin has filed for divorce after 25 years of marriage.

Flavin filed a petition on Friday at a court in Palm Beach County, Florida “for dissolution of marriage and other relief.” Closer Weekly was the first to report the divorce filing news.

Stallone and Flavin married in 1997, but their relationship first began in 1988 when they met at a restaurant in Beverly Hills, Calirfornia. The pair share three daughters: Sophia, 25, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet, 20.

News of the pair’s split is a surprise for many fans since the couple just celebrated their silver wedding anniversary three months earlier. At the time, the couple marked the milestone occasion with respective Instagram posts to praise each other.

“Happy 25th anniversary to my amazing wife,” Stallone captioned a carousel of photos of them. “There is not enough words to describe what this incredibly selfless dedicated, patient, woman has meant to our lives and I only wish they could be another 25! Thank you sweetheart!”

Flavin also shared her own respective Instagram post, writing:  “Happy 25th wedding anniversary to us! Thank you for always keeping me laughing, loving and protecting our beautiful family!” Flavin’s post has since been deleted, along with other photos on her Instagram where Stallone was previously featured.

Stallone was recently photographed with a tattoo of his onscreen Rockey dog Butkus covering one he previously had of Flavin’s face on his arm. The photos quickly ignited rumors of a potential breakup.
