Hitmaker Taylor Swift has a lot to celebrate lately as her fifth studio album and first full-pop album 1989 smashed records by selling 1.287 million copies in its first week alone.
After opening the American Music Awards on November 23 with her hit “Blank Space” she later graced the stage to accept her Dick Clark Award of Excellence, honoring her album’s success.
The country-turned-pop-star, however, will be only 24 for a few more weeks as Swift turns a quarter of a century old on December 13. Unfortunately, it seems all of the celebrating around her career success has overshadowed any birthday plans she may have had.
You’d think one of the reigning queens of entertainment would have huge party plans but Swift stated, “I don’t know what I’m going to do. I haven’t really planned that far out.”
While she later admitted, “I should have a big party. You’re right,” she also said, “It’s kind of weird, like, when you’re so excited about something, like, I was so geared up for the album launch and so excited about it. It was two years in the making. So, in my mind, I was like, ‘Birthdays happen every year, like, album launches only happen every few years,’ […] And so, it’s so far back on my list of priorities that I’m turning 25.”
As well as her album launch and promotional tour ahead of her birthday, the singer is always gearing up for a huge event after her birthday as she is headlining New Year’s Rockin’ Even in Times Square.
